Baby Davey

Well, first I want to appologize for keeping everyone waiting on the information but it has been a long couple weeks.

Davey was born early on Aug. 11 -08 weighing 4lbs 8oz  17and 1/4" long. He had to spend a week in the ICU to watch his weight progress, ability to eat without complication, and breath on his own.

Mom had a great surgery with hemoraging leaving me with a tube to drain the internal bleeding but for the most part felt great. The next few days things went down hill for mom with many complications to end up including a blood clot in the right leg. Mom ended up not leaving for a week either.

Now at home baby is doing great with many doctor appointments to cover basic stuff but nothing to be worried about. Mom however is in bed unable to walk and in a lot of pain. Three weeks expected for recovery and six months of Comadin Therapy to treat the clot.

Despite the complications we are all very excited and proud of our new addition. The kids are all in love with him and such a great help and very willing to do so. Daddy is the most excited and proud. Always eager to love, hold, feed, or just stare. lol

Baby Davy

Well, it has been a journey in just the few months this little one has been growing inside. We have had lots of doctors appointments and are thankful for each sonogram we have. Davy is now over a pound and almost ten inches long. We can feel him moving around and he loves to lay on Mommy's left hip, which is not the most comfortable position for Mommy but Daddy seems to have a way of making him move over. lol Little Davy already has quite the personality to him. He does not like it when he gets pushed on for any of the sonograms. He kicks and pushes like crazy when they push on him. When they try and get the perfect shot of his heart or face, he tends to wait till the camera is ready to go and then rolls over. lol I am sure he will be quite the handful with that attitude. Daddy said we are in for it if he gets a mix of his Dad's and Uncle Jimmy's attitude. We shall see.

Our doctor wants to deliver him C-section and we are gaining a second opinion from Dr. Coffey. We really don't want to miss the natural experience of him arriving in the world, plus we can't understand what the need is for a C-section since Mom has already had one natural since the last C-section.

All the doctors tell us we are doing well and seem very healthy. Fortunetly Mom has only lost weight and not gained any. She is sure that will change very shortly. Cravings still consist of Pineapple Coconut ice cream, sour crout, and salads. Everything  gives Mom heartburn though. It will be nice when that goes away.

As the journey continues we will share our thoughts and feeling with all of you. Thank you for all the family and friends that have been so supportive and involved in such a wonderful time of our lives. We love all of you.

Baby Update

We have seen several doctors over the past few weeks and I thought everyone should be updated.
First we had tons of bloodwork done by our OB, we get those results Monday.
Second, we saw a hemotologist, which deals with blood issues. I have had blood clots in the past following my daughters birth and had to take injections during my last pregnancy. He did bloodwork as well and found that I have a genetic mutation in my blood (protien C deficiency) which causes the blood to thicken, therefore will have to be on blood thinners the last trimester.
Third, we saw a Internal Fetal Medicine Doctor to monitor me and the baby due to the blood disorder and the fact that I am Hypoglocymic. He did a sonogram and we enjoyed viewing our precious baby. We are anxious to share photos of the baby with everyone. He suggests we start the blood thinners at twelve weeks instead of 24. He is also repeating bloodwork for my sugar, and my liver function.
It sounds like a lot of  scary stuff, but it really isn't the baby and I are doing great, as soon as I find what food I can eat without getting ill. lol
Next week we take the four kids and my Dad to join us in watching our next sonogram at the OB's office. We will update more after a few more visits.

First Sonogram

We had our first sonogram the other day and we are proud to announce we are parents of a grain of rice. lol That is how big they said the baby is right now. We are not as far along as we first estimated. We are only seven and a half weeks now. So, we are due in September.

This whole experience is really exciting especially since David is so enjoying all of his first experiences with this pregnancy. I think at times he is more anxious than me. I am glad he is getting to fulfill a passion he has had for a long time, to be a Dad.

Our next sonogram is in four weeks and we will keep everyone posted on the turn out.

Scott's life and its burden on me

Well, I am writing this to vent I suppose. It has been said by some that my ex (would say husband but he refuses to sign any papers) Scott, was done wrong by me. I guess some hold pitty for him because he has recently been made to try and fend for himself. Well, here are the facts on all of that.

1) It may surprise most of you that Scott, his girlfriend, her two year old daughter, and now their new baby are living with me. (rent - they never keep paid, dont pay for groceries or utilities, I am their free babysitter while she works, and free driver when Scott cant drive her)

2) This is not the first time Scott and his girlfriends have lived with me.

3) Everytime Scott needs a place to live, needs money, or needs bailed out of trouble, who does he call? Dad and me.

4) He has not paid child support for the four children he blessed me with. I have raised them on my own. (and everyone wonders why I dont have time to move on with my own social life)

5) He, nor his girlfriend  help with household chores, but make plenty of messes.

6) He, nor his girlfriend show any appreciation for help they have been given by Dad or I.

7) This is the best one; I am not allowed to have a date to my house while he is living here. Also, I am not allowed, according to Scott to have a boyfriend attend any family functions. Is that not the kick in the can.?

So, I guess what I am telling you is that Scott is not an innocent party to his life. He makes bad decisions that bring him bad fate. Unfortunately, the kids and I are the one that pays the price each time. The kids get to watch him throw his money away on himself or I suppose now his new baby, but not support them. He is not a nice person to any of his four children. He keeps the house in constant stress.

So why, would we allow him to stay? That is a good question, but we help him because family is suppose to stick together. I try to teach the children that despite what he does to them, he is their Father and should be treated as such. Lastly, just trying to be a good person, but I gotta tell ya, I think there has got to be a limit!

So, for anyone who may feel sorry for Scott, don't. He is being well cared for and I would say loving every minute of it.

Super Bowl

Well, the family and some friends are watching the super bowl and my lovely blonde daughter is trying to pay attention. All of us are yelling go to the player almost to the line for the touchdown and then we proceed with our current conversation. We all stop and look at the television real fast because my daughter Tori is yelling go, go, go!!!!!!! We realize she is watching the instant replay! hahahahahahaha We all had to tease her a little.

Thought all might enjoy the family moment.
